A beautiful vase object created by Anne van der Waerden in collaboration with Kees Hoogendam. The neck seems to float just below the rim in a state of becoming. The design is so masterful that it becomes a unique work of art. The glossy surface is a result of the entire surface being polished with a stone. The gloss would have disappeared had Anne van der Waerden fired it at a higher temperature in the wood oven. The gentler the firing, the glossier the surface. Make no mistake: the vase carries enormous weight, both literally and figuratively.
