Root Stone

Lika Mutal

Root Stone consists of a large, round granite disc incorporating a lighter, natural stone. This opening gives the impression of revealing the stone's interior. The forms are simple and serene, yet it feels heavy and present. The sculpture stands on a modest base of brickwork and Corten steel, which enhances its earthy character. In this way, Lika Mutal demonstrates how stone can connect: exterior and interior, old and new, nature and human creativity.
