Donar & Sleipnir

Willem Lenssinck
Donar & Slepinir is a Norse saga, but with a twist. Sleipnir was Odin's horse, but Willem Lenssinck creates his own version. Donar stands on a chariot and restrains the cloud horse with reins. The wheel of the chariot becomes a glacier stone here. Due to its oval shape and rotation, this can cause enormous impacts, thus symbolizing thunder. Willem always thinks ahead, because this sculpture should also become life-size. He has already found life-size willow branches in his area. These must be converted into bronze as the row of trees of the horse and chariot. Willow branches are also used by druids to find water. In addition, he already has a large glacier boulder with an ash hole in it. However, having something like this cast is quite expensive now, which is why it is still pending.
