In The Shelter, vulnerability and security meet. A quiet human figure seems to focus on an architectural form that could simultaneously be a house or a memory. The work invites the viewer not only to look, but also to experience. The subtle lines, soft earth tones, and robust metal object create a tension between light and strength. As is often the case in the oeuvre of Klaas & Brockmeier, a poetic space is created in which the viewer can project their own memories and feelings.
