Penelope

Klaas & Brockmeier

Penelope, the wife of the hero Odysseus, is one of the most intriguing women in Greek mythology. While her husband braves the high seas and monsters, she stands her ground at home. Surrounded by intrusive suitors, she refuses to be seduced or pressured. With patience and a healthy dose of cleverness, she determines her own fate. Uschi Klaas and Heinrich Brockmeier give her a striking presence: a slender, bronze figure, almost swallowed by a sea of fiery red. Penelope does not just wait. She stands firm and possesses the strength to remain true to oneself.
