The Horse sculpture. In the 1960s, we witnessed the practical disappearance of horses from daily life due to their lack of economic utility. Motorized traffic was on the rise. Willem cycled his heart out just to catch a glimpse of the first American cruiser at a traffic light in Utrecht. A Ford Edsel. 1 HP Mach II is an equestrian statue featuring two riders. The horse has been transformed into a machine. The horse's belly has become a wheel. A discus measuring one meter in diameter. The horse's legs on the discus are rudimentary. It couldn't be more contemporary.
