Formula I RacingHorse

Willem Lenssinck
Willem was fascinated by the transformation from horse to machine. He started with some sketches. The image that stayed with him in terms of speed was a typical movement of the Jaguar at full speed. Or of the greyhound. In this movement, the front legs completely disappear between the hind legs while running. The next movement is that the animals stretch their legs out completely again. A hyper-fast movement. This is how he came to this model. Between those hind legs is the rear wheel. And the hind legs are stretched forward, where the front wheels are located, complete with fender and shock absorber. The F1 racing horse was once displayed at TEFAF. It wasn't sold but was the most photographed piece at the art fair! People didn't understand it. According to Willem Lenssinck, that's actually the most beautiful thing. It is not widely recognized as contemporary because it is ahead of its time.
